The NORRA 500 on October 9-12 in Ensenada, Baja, Mexico offers an incredible Baja racing experience. Competitors will take the green flag at Rancho Nelson on day one of racing. After several challenging stages, the finish line celebration will be held at the historic Horsepower Ranch. The following day we move to the infamous Estero Beach short course track for the start with the day’s finish back at the resort at Estero Beach. In addition to the different eras of 4 wheeled race vehicles that span the entire history of off road racing, Bikes are back; they will enjoy the same start and finish lines, but run separate, bike only courses both days. Motorcycle classes exist for road book navigation and GPS guidance.
For those who love Baja, but don’t own a race vehicle, The Meyers Manx Safari Expedition at the NORRA 500 begins stateside in 2025. It is a guided tour of Baja that puts you right in the mix of the Mexican 1000 or NORRA 500. It is open to street legal vehicles that are capable of off road travel. It will be filled with stunning mountain vistas and cool, Pacific Ocean breezes. Participants will rendezvous at the Vogt Ranch off California highway 94 on the United States side of the US/Mexico border before heading south through Tecate. After meeting everyone and doing a vehicle check at Vogt Ranch, the caravan will head across the border as a group to enjoy all the festivities and action of the NORRA 500 event.
The NORRA 500 is easy to chase. It can be managed with a light crew and one chase truck. Stages are designed to finish close to fuel locations and main highways. The NORRA 500’s unique format is intended to reduce complicated planning and logistics, and create an event that racers can easily manage. It is a loop race that begins, and ends around Ensenada both days. Your team can stay at the same hotel for the entire event. If you have always wanted to bring your family and friends to see what NORRA is all about, or want to get your feet wet racing in Baja, this is the event for you!
The adventure begins before the green flag ever drops. NORRA participants enjoy special expedited border crossings for our group. Once registered online or during late registration at the event, you are added to our NORRA app and a private NORRA group chat where teams connect, swap advice, ask for parts assistance, and even arrange to caravan south together. That sense of community starts at the border and carries through the entire event.
