NORRA Invites Everyone to Experience the Best of Baja

NORRA takes great pleasure in welcoming everyone to the Baja Peninsula, a truly special part of the world. No other place includes such a diverse assemblage of natural beauty and the incredible culture of hospitality that has been created. In the United States they say that baseball is the national pastime. In Baja, it’s off road racing and NORRA is the original off road racing organization. NORRA is deeply rooted in Baja and enjoys special reverence from the people and in the many echelons of state and local government. They all work together to make your time with us as safe and rewarding as possible. If it’s your first time in Baja don’t worry, we will take great care of you. For many of the people who make up the organization, Baja is their home. That’s why NORRA supports local charities and plants trees when we are not racing to invest in the future. Our “no prerunning” format creates far less impacts on the roads that people depend on and the everyday lives of the locals. Thanks to long standing relationships with controlling entities, NORRA is allowed to traverse special areas that are normally closed to racing. When NORRA holds an event, we are sharing a special place with our friends and racing family. At NORRA events, you are under our big umbrella. Hundreds of people work behind the scenes to insure you enjoy the greatest Baja racing experience. Sharing this experience is something everyone takes great pride in accomplishing.

The adventure begins before the green flag ever drops. NORRA participants enjoy special expedited border crossings for our group. Once registered online or during late registration at the event, you are added to our NORRA app and a private NORRA group chat where teams connect, swap advice, ask for parts assistance, and even arrange to caravan south together. Instead of driving into Mexico alone, you roll into Ensenada as part of a convoy, traveling alongside fellow racers who are just as excited to experience Baja as you are. That sense of community starts at the border and carries through the entire event.

NORRA combines fierce competition with everything else that makes Baja racing so special. If you love to compete off road and enjoy the food, culture and spectacular scenery of Baja, you have to join us at an event. No other racing series has a more diverse field of cars, trucks, buggies and UTV’s competing. Entries span the entire history of over 50 years of offroad racing. In order to accommodate such a unique collection of race vehicles, the overall classification structure is determined by the era of racing the cars competed in. That way, competitors can be matched against similar cars that all have the same technology. NORRA also has the Meyers Manx Safari Expedition which is for modified street legal vehicles. The Safari Expedition is a guided tour that follows parts of the race course, but also takes in some points of interest, and great food along the way.

Everything you need to know about NORRA’s Baja Mexican 1000, and NORRA 500 can be found at norra.com. Go to the site and find out for yourself why NORRA has exploded in popularity. You can experience the same wonder and sense of achievement those early thrill seekers sought in the 1960’s today when you join NORRA in Baja. Don’t miss out on the fun and fierce competition.
