NORRA Is the Home for Class 11 Racers

High horsepower, long travel, unlimited off road racing vehicles are amazing, but there is one class that always gets the most response from the fans; the class 11 bugs. When the unlimited vehicles go by, everyone goes silent. When the class 11 bugs go by, everyone cheers. They epitomize what off road racing is all about; overcoming incredible challenges and beating the odds. At NORRA, class 11 will always have a home. We have two categories for class 11. One is for the limited style cars that typically race in the United States. The other is for the more modified cars that compete in Baja.

NORRA has a no-nonsense prize money structure for class 11 based on the number of entries. With 5 or more entries, the prize money is $5500. If 11 cars are entered, it jumps to 11K. This does not include contingency, only cash prizes from NORRA. Competitors can decide how the prize money is distributed. Winner takes all, graduated payouts based on finishing position or divided equally; you decide amongst yourselves. NORRA is all about delivering the best Baja racing experience for our competitors. Our races are equal parts fierce competition, adventure and enjoying the best that Baja has to offer. The rally style format consists of timed, high speed special sections that are typically around 70 miles in length depending on the course. Courses change every year so you’re not racing the same stuff all the time. The special stages are connected by transit zones that allow you time to refuel, make adjustments, change drivers or just catch your breath. Every time you hit a special stage, you will be at your best.

The NORRA 500 has two days of racing around Ensenada. This allows your team to all stay at the same hotel for the entire event. The NORRA 500 has all the amenities found in Ensenada with varied, challenging Baja terrain to race on. Logistics are simple; it’s a fast, fun race for the entire team. NORRA’s Baja Mexican 1000 travels the length of the Peninsula stopping in a different, unique town every night. It offers six days of competition. NORRA was the original sanctioned off road racing series in Baja back in 1967. We honor the past, while forging the future. Our class structure is based on the entire history of off road racing. Vintage style racers are an integral part of what we do as a race series, not a side show. Come join the original Baja racing series for the adventure of a lifetime. The NORRA 500 is the event that’s easy to race and easy to chase. The entire crew will have the best time ever racing in Baja. Both days of rally format racing will take place on unique courses that start and finish in iconic locations offering exciting spectator opportunities. On Friday, competitors will take the green flag at Rancho Nelson and finish at the iconic Horsepower Ranch for a celebration. Saturday you will take the start at the short course in Estero Beach and return to Estero Beach for the finish line celebration. The short course starts will be exciting for NORRA TV who will be sending coverage around the world from all over the course.
