NORRA 500 Meyers Manx Safari Expedition Heads to the Beach

The 2024 NORRA 500 Meyers Manx Safari Expedition on October 11th through the 14th in Ensenada, Baja Mexico will be filled with stunning coastline vistas and cool, Pacific Ocean breezes. The Safari Expedition is unique to NORRA. It is a guided tour of Baja that puts you right in the mix of the Mexican 1000 or NORRA 500. It is open to street legal vehicles that are capable of off road travel. Participants will take the green flag each day, follow parts of the racecourse, and have time for photos, scenic vistas, and local fare. You will see the Baja that only the most seasoned Baja travelers know.

It all begins at technical inspection in Ensenada. There you will mingle with fans, famous drivers, plenty of characters and icons of off road racing. There will be a meet and greet with our Grand Marshal at Mac Johnson´s Vintage Classic Car Round-Up, and for those interested to travel as a guided group to Qualifying. There will be great food and beverages, music and more. After the Welcome Fiesta the Driver’s Meeting will go over all the last details about the next two days of expedition.

The Safari Expedition route takes you south along the Pacific coast. You will see favorite spots like Coyote Cal’s, where you will stop for breakfast and out of the way trails that only locals know about. When you aren’t stopping to cheer on the competitors, you’ll be dipping your tires in the sand. The Finish Line Fiesta after day one will be in San Quintin and you’ll stay close by in Vicente Guerrero that night.

On day two, you will get a new perspective as you head up into the scenic mountains before hitting a lunch stop in San Vicente. The group will head down the San Vicente wash into Erendira where you might see the racers come through the infamous rock whoops on the boulder beach. The boulder beach section is filled with thousands of rounded, polished stones formed by the waves. Day two is all run on completely new sections for the NORRA Safari Expedition. Safari Expedition participants will create friends and memories that will last a lifetime. From spectacular scenery to fabulous Baja street tacos, your experienced guides will make sure to get you to the best spots and across the finish line each night.

No other event pays tribute to the history of offroad racing while also providing memories and camp fire stories that will be told by future generations. The Safari Expedition at the NORRA 500 is an event that racers can easily manage with friends and family. If you have always wanted to bring your family and friends to see what NORRA is all about, or want to get your feet wet travelling in Baja, this is the event for you!
