Meyers Manx Sponsors the Safari Expedition at the NORRA 500

Like NORRA, Meyers Manx has been a part of off road racing history from the very beginning. They had 3 cars entered in the very first sanctioned off road race; the 1967 NORRA Mexican 1000. The inaugural overall win went to the red number 10 Meyers Manx team car driven by Vic Wilson and Ted Mangels. Today, Meyers Manx is still with NORRA as both a sponsor and as a participant. They sponsor the Safari Expedition and have vintage and new remastered vehicles at the event.

The Remastered Meyers Manx participating in the NORRA 500 this year is the perfect blend of Bruce Meyers' original design with significant improvements made through modern production techniques. The company has addressed each pain point typically experienced by home builders, and is excited to introduce improvements inspired by Old Red, the Bruce Meyers original, Baja record setting Manx including a functional rear storage bin and optional extended range fuel tanks. Like Old Red, it is powered by an air cooled Volkswagen engine but benefits from further developments to smooth power delivery and regulate tone.

“Our involvement in NORRA isn't solely to validate advancements like synthetic fuels and electric drivetrains; it's a tribute to our deep-rooted legacy of racing in the region. The Remastered Manx joining the NORRA 500 will feature an array of components under consideration for our upcoming models,” Phillip Sarofim.
