Yokohama Tire Has Exciting News For The 2023 NORRA 500

The Yokohama NORRA 500 just got more exciting. Yokohama Tire just announced its already-strong NORRA off-road team just got a powerful boost: Chris Forsberg. Forsberg Racing, led by the three-time Formula Drift champion, is ready to slide into the dirt at the NORRA 500 on Yokohama’s rugged GEOLANDAR tires.

Forsberg will compete with Team Yokohama member Leticia Bufoni in a production-class 2023 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X modified with all-new NISMO off-road parts. Skateboard legend Bufoni has been putting in work in short-course this season and will be making her desert racing debut. The Forsberg/Bufoni team will join fellow Team Yokohama members Dave Mason Jr. and Bailey Cole for “good vibes, good times” during the Yokohama NORRA 500.

Over the years, Yokohama has sponsored the winningest NORRA teams, like the 1968 Ford Bronco of Boyd Jaynes and Brian Godfrey named Caballo Del Diablo. Yokohama also sponsors NORRA racers Kristen and Wayne Matlock, and now the Nissan-backed team of Forsberg and Bufoni.

The fun, the challenge, the comradery, the food and drink, and the culture in Baja make NORRA unlike any other event, and there is a place for everyone. The simpler logistics of the two-day event make the Yokohama NORRA 500 fun for established teams and for newcomers a perfect chance to get that first Baja race under your belt. If you don’t have a race vehicle, enter the safari class for street legal vehicles. You will be on a guided tour that takes in key points of interest; watch the racers compete, and allows you to celebrate with Baja legends and average Joes living their dreams. It’s so easy to join NORRA in the fun: just go to where you will find all the information you need. Don’t delay, make plans to come down and enjoy the Yokohama NORRA 500.
