AGUA DULCE, CALIF. - The Yokohama NORRA Mexican 1000 Presented by Meyers Manx is unlike any other event. Traveling the Baja Peninsula from top to bottom, you will experience the time of your life. That’s why it’s important to document your adventure. The memories you make will last forever, especially if you contact one of the professional photographers who cover the race. NORRA has assembled the best in the business to document the rally for us each year, and you can do the same. Bink Designs, Getsome Photo, Fotosol, and Ernesto Araiza will be providing coverage this year. If you want professional photographs of your team in action, contact them before the race to secure a spot on their roster. Don’t leave it to chance; they cover all competitors, but if you contract with them beforehand, they will give special attention to your team.

These photographers know where to go and how to capture the action. They operate in conditions that would intimidate most photographers, but they do it because they love Baja as much as you do. Ernesto Araiza is a talented photo-journalist who created his own book during last year’s event and will be back again this year. His "THE MEXICAN 1000" book is limited to 500 hand-numbered copies. NORRA will give one away for each entry with the option to purchase more at a cost of $75 dollars apiece. They are offered on a first come, first served basis. If you want to purchase one without a race entry, you need to attend contingency on Friday the 28th in Ensenada. They will be in the Red Room of the Hotel Riviera at noon.
Known as “The Happiest Race On Earth!” The NORRA Mexican 1000 is entirely about having fun and creating memories that will last a lifetime. ABOUT NORRA
Beginning in 2010, the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) began promoting a rebirth of the NORRA Mexican 1000 rally. The unique off-road rally was co-created by promoter Mike Pearlman to consist of special stages (unlimited speed timed stages in the dirt) linked together by controlled speed liaison / transit sections (highway). The one-of-a-kind, once-a-year, five-day rally includes vintage off-road vehicles and motorcycles, as well as modern pre-runners, trucks, buggies, UTVs, bikes and desert Rally Raid cars.
Pearlman’s late father Ed and others established the first running of the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road rally in November of 1967, which eventually became internationally recognized and evolved into the Baja 1000 in the mid-1970’s.
