AGUA DULCE, CALIF. - Meyers Manx is the beer sponsor for the 2023 Yokohama NORRA Mexican 1000 Presented by Meyers Manx. They are the presenting sponsor, and they are also making sure there is plenty of Transpeninsular Cerveza Clara on hand to quench everyone’s thirst throughout the event. The Cerveza Clara is brewed specially for NORRA by Transpeninsular and comes in a different commemorative can every year. This year’s design was not done by our own gifted artist Bill Brindle at B3KREATIV but instead by Meyers Manx Art Director Brian Kesling. The artwork is beautiful. It pays tribute to Meyers Manx as well as all other competitors in the rally. As usual, it creates a huge dilemma. Should you keep a full can as a collector’s item, or just drink them all? The delicious Transpeninsular Cerveza Clara inside usually wins the debate. The empty cans are like the empty beaches in Baja; they provide memories that last forever. Whether it’s collecting NORRA beer cans, or NORRA hand-made trophies, the memories you make along the way will be the stories told around the camp fire for years to come.

The beautifully designed beer cans and trophies are great, but the most rewarding things that you will take away from the Mexican 1000 are all the new friends you will develop along the way. There is nothing more refreshing than a cold brew after a long day out on the course, and at the Mexican 1000, every day is a celebration. It’s a celebration of friends, of competition, and the many beautiful things found only in Baja. After days of competition, and nights of celebration, there is a unique camaraderie that is forged between everyone in attendance. There is genuine rivalry on the course, but the overall goal always becomes getting everyone to the finish line in San Jose Del Cabo. If you love to race, love to have fun, and love the food, drink and music of Baja, you must experience “The Happiest Race On Earth!”.

The NORRA Mexican 1000 attracts competitors, adventure seekers, and a hugely diverse field of entrants that range from racing Icons, and professionals, to first-time racers. No other event immerses participants in the challenge, beauty, and enjoyment that are found on the Baja Peninsula like the Yokohama NORRA Mexican 1000. NORRA helped to create the sport of offroad racing over 50 years ago when the Meyers Manx team won the inaugural Mexican 1000 I might add. Go to norra.com, there you will find all the information you need to join us in Baja. Don’t miss out on the greatest adventure you will ever experience.

ABOUT NORRA
Beginning in 2010, the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) began promoting a rebirth of the NORRA Mexican 1000 rally. The unique off-road rally was co-created by promoter Mike Pearlman to consist of special stages (unlimited speed timed stages in the dirt) linked together by controlled speed liaison / transit sections (highway). The one-of-a-kind, once-a-year, five-day rally includes vintage off-road vehicles and motorcycles, as well as modern pre-runners, trucks, buggies, UTVs, bikes and desert Rally Raid cars.
Pearlman’s late father Ed and others established the first running of the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road rally in November of 1967, which eventually became internationally recognized and evolved into the Baja 1000 in the mid-1970’s.
NORRA enjoys corporate partnerships with Yokohama Tire, Meyers Manx, Bilstein Shock Absorbers, STEEL-IT, Raceline Wheels / Nomad Wheels / Mobelwagen Wheels, Optima Batteries, Hellwig Suspension Products, McMillin Racing, Rugged Radios, Multitool USA, Cervecería Transpeninsular, PCI Race Radios, Schampa, Baja Bush Pilots, The Fab School, Mag7 Pits, the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame (ORMHOF), B3KREATIV, and many more.
