AGUA DULCE, CALIF. - In football there is a term known as the 12th man. There are 11 players on the field, so the 12th man refers to their supporters in the stands. At the Yokohama NORRA Mexican 1000 presented by Meyers Manx, the 12th man is The Fab School. Not only are they racing their own Vintage Class 5 car, but they also set up a repair station at the finish line each night to assist other teams in fixing their vehicles if needed. Their crew is not only willing, but exceptionally able. Their team is made up of current students and graduates that bring a wide range of skills and knowledge to the game. If you require repair assistance The Fab School will be there to support you.

The Fab School graduates lend a helping hand to the Mexican 1000 and have contributed immensely to all forms of racing, and the automotive industry as a whole. The Fab School provides instruction in Fabrication Skills, Digital Design and Manufacturing, and Advanced Composites and Technologies. They take pride in providing a curriculum unlike any other trade school. They match theory with hands-on shop training; then combine it together with real-life applications like off road racing, aerospace, automotive and manufacturing. The Fab School teaches valuable skills that directly lead to a rewarding career.

The Fab School teaches skills that last a lifetime and NORRA provides memories that last a lifetime. The best thing about the Yokohama NORRA Mexican 1000 is the shared experiences, and friendships made along the way. The second best thing is all the cool vehicles that participate. Every single one of them has a story, even the brand new builds. Many are treasures that took a lot of work to discover, restore, and return to the dirt. Others were just dusted off, and pressed back into service. Each overnight stop during the rally has its own unique charm and character. If you love to race, love to have fun, and love the food, drink and music of Baja, you must come down and experience “The Happiest Race On Earth!”, the Yokohama NORRA Mexican 1000 presented by Meyers Manx. ABOUT NORRA

Beginning in 2010, the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) began promoting a rebirth of the NORRA Mexican 1000 rally. The unique off-road rally was co-created by promoter Mike Pearlman to consist of special stages (unlimited speed timed stages in the dirt) linked together by controlled speed liaison / transit sections (highway). The one-of-a-kind, once-a-year, five-day rally includes vintage off-road vehicles and motorcycles, as well as modern pre-runners, trucks, buggies, UTVs, bikes and desert Rally Raid cars.

Pearlman’s late father Ed and others established the first running of the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road rally in November of 1967, which eventually became internationally recognized and evolved into the Baja 1000 in the mid-1970’s.

NORRA enjoys corporate partnerships with Yokohama Tire, Meyers Manx, Bilstein Shock Absorbers, Rugged Radios, STEEL-IT, Raceline Wheels / Nomad Wheels / Mobelwagen Wheels, Adler Motorsports, McMillin Racing, Maxima Racing Oils, Multitool USA, Biltwell, Cervecería Transpeninsular, PCI Race Radios, Schampa, K&N, Baja Bush Pilots, The Fab School, Mag7 Pits, the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame (ORMHOF), B3KREATIV, and many more.
