Communications Devices Tailored To Specific Needs!

AGUA DULCE, CALIF. - Rugged Radios has graciously outfitted the entire NORRA crew with communications devices tailored to their specific needs. Communication in Baja is such a critical aspect of a successful event; whether you are the sanctioning body, a competitor, or a fan. "I am proud to help the people that help our offroad community. It's about supporting the legacy of offroad, and that is NORRA." Greg Cottrell, Founder and President of Rugged Radios. When Greg started Rugged Radios he set out to revolutionize the offroad communications industry. That dream grew into the communications giant that is Rugged today, manufacturing communications for work, race, and play. Rugged builds their products to be rugged tough, engineered with the finest components, and using their own proprietary technology that exceeds other brands. Rugged is passionate about communications and their product line reflects a dedication to helping customers Go Further®. Greg Cottrell knows all about the fun you can have racing NORRA. He has competed with NORRA in a class 11 Volkswagen Beetle. His Rugged Radio crew will have the race support trailer at contingency to handle any questions or needs you may have.

Those Rugged Radios will come in handy for NORRA as the courses laid out by Race Director Eliseo Garcia at the 500 are both masterpieces. They travel by the beaches, over mountains, and through the deserts during two days of racing. Each day competitors will experience a new course to navigate. The Baja Peninsula is unmatched in its beauty, diverse landscapes, and incredible people. The NORRA 500’s unique format is intended to reduce complicated planning and logistics, and create an event that racers can easily manage. It is a loop race that starts, and ends each day in Ensenada. After racing, the NORRA team will offer locally inspired hospitality starting with happy hour events, and concluding with dinner. If you have always wanted to bring your family, and friends to see what NORRA is all about, or want to get your feet wet racing in Baja, this is the event for you! If you love to race, love to have fun, and love the food, drink and music of Baja, you must come down and experience The NORRA 500. ABOUT NORRA

Beginning in 2010, the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) began promoting a rebirth of the NORRA Mexican 1000 rally. The unique off-road rally was co-created by promoter Mike Pearlman to consist of special stages (unlimited speed timed stages in the dirt) linked together by controlled speed liaison / transit sections (highway). The one-of-a-kind, once-a-year, five-day rally includes vintage off-road vehicles and motorcycles, as well as modern pre-runners, trucks, buggies, UTVs, bikes and desert Rally Raid cars.

Pearlman’s late father Ed and others established the first running of the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road rally in November of 1967, which eventually became internationally recognized and evolved into the Baja 1000 in the mid-1970’s.

NORRA enjoys corporate partnerships with Yokohama Tire, Method Race Wheels, Bilstein Shock Absorbers, STEEL-IT, Rugged Radios, Adler Motorsports, McMillin Racing, Maxima Racing Oils, Multitool USA, Satélite del Norte, Biltwell, Cerveceria Transpeninsular, PCI Race Radios, Schampa, Optima Batteries, K&N, Horsepower Ranch, Baja Bush Pilots, The Fab School, Mag7 Pits, the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame (ORMHOF), B3KREATIV, and many more.
