Bilstein Adding To An Impressive Record At NORRA 500!
Presenting the Coveted Madonna Award At The Finish!

AGUA DULCE, CALIF. - Bilstein has been making performance shock absorbers for motorsports competition for over 50 years. Many of the historic vehicles that compete at the NORRA 500 are riding on the same Bilstein shocks they competed on when they were originally built. Bilstein’s technology is still leading the way in suspension damping technology. They have applications that cover everything from daily drivers to professional race vehicles.

The Bilstein technology developed in racing is also available for your factory based truck or SUV. The B8 8112 (ZoneControl® CR) suspension kit will enhance your suspension performance to a level that will defy convention. The high tech bolt-on coilover shock kit supplies position sensitive damping with 3 compression zones and 2 rebound zones, controlled by 3 independent pistons. Featuring superior bottom out control through a 2-stage, telescoping internal compression stop, it eliminates the need for an external hydraulic bump stop. The secondary rebound stop dissipates spring energy and stabilizes the suspension directly following a large compression event. The internal rebound stop will also eliminate harsh top-out events and the need for an external limit strap. If that sounds complicated it isn’t, just bolt them on and go.

In addition to supporting racers, Bilstein will be awarding the prestigious Madonna award at the NORRA 500. The coveted Bilstein Madonna trophy is recognized around the world as one of the most prestigious honors a race driver can achieve. Off-road racing champions such as Ivan "Ironman" Stewart, Mark McMillin, and Mark Stahl, have all been recipients of the Madonna. Both McMillin and Stahl have earned Madonna’s in the early days of offroad racing, and also in the modern era while competing in in NORRA events. Bilstein is excited to be a part of history as it happens.

At the NORRA 500, people and vehicles from every era of offroad racing participate in the event. The NORRA 500 draws current racing stars, icons of the past, lovers of Baja, and adventure seekers of all types. NORRA events provide a great challenge, great competition, unrivaled celebrations, and the best that Baja has to offer. ABOUT NORRA

Beginning in 2010, the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) began promoting a rebirth of the NORRA Mexican 1000 rally. The unique off-road rally was co-created by promoter Mike Pearlman to consist of special stages (unlimited speed timed stages in the dirt) linked together by controlled speed liaison / transit sections (highway). The one-of-a-kind, once-a-year, five-day rally includes vintage off-road vehicles and motorcycles, as well as modern pre-runners, trucks, buggies, UTVs, bikes and desert Rally Raid cars.

Pearlman’s late father Ed and others established the first running of the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road rally in November of 1967, which eventually became internationally recognized and evolved into the Baja 1000 in the mid-1970’s.

NORRA enjoys corporate partnerships with Yokohama Tire, Method Race Wheels, Bilstein Shock Absorbers, STEEL-IT, Rugged Radios, Adler Motorsports, McMillin Racing, Maxima Racing Oils, Multitool USA, Satélite del Norte, Biltwell, Cerveceria Transpeninsular, PCI Race Radios, Schampa, Optima Batteries, K&N, Horsepower Ranch, Baja Bush Pilots, The Fab School, Mag7 Pits, the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame (ORMHOF), B3KREATIV, and many more.
