Celebrate The Good Vibes; Good Times! At The Yokohama NORRA 500 Presented By Method Race Wheels

AGUA DULCE, CALIF. - NORRA has posted the schedule of events for the 2022 Yokohama NORRA 500 Presented By Method Race Wheels - Click a button below to download. You will find important times and locations to make your event as fun and easy as possible. When it comes to fun, what better way to enjoy Baja than with a celebration? At the Yokohama NORRA 500 Presented By Method Race Wheels we celebrate the incredible experiences had by all every day. We celebrate competition, camaraderie, and the love of Baja. Participants are treated to such incredible experiences during the day, it’s equally important that they have an opportunity to share those experiences with friends new and old after the racing is done.
We kick things off with the McMillin Racing Welcome Fiesta. Held on Thursday, September 29th from 10am-5pm Pacific in the Riviera Convention Center (Casino Ballroom), we will have drinks, music, and delicious food prepared by Chef Drew Deckman. We will celebrate that you’re in Baja with NORRA. From 5-6pm Pacific the METHOD Happy Hour will be held at the Riviera Convention Center (Theater). That’s just day one.
After the first day of racing on Friday, the Finish Line Celebration will be at the Riviera Convention Center patios next to the theater (the Jardín Desértico area). NORRA will provide food, drinks and live music from 2pm-9pm Pacific. The location will be the same on Saturday after day two, but will extend to 10:00pm. We will have different food both days, DJ music, specially brewed NORRA Cerveceria Transpeninsular beer and lots of surprises.
On Sunday, we will be at Cerveceria Transpeninsular from 10am-2pm Pacific for the ADLER Motorsports Awards Celebration for more fun, food, drinks and music. Teams will be able to pick up their trophies at the event from 10am to 2pm.
The pioneers of NORRA off road racing in 1967 would drink a toast to Baja after their racing was done, and that tradition continues to this day. No other racing event pays tribute to the history of offroad racing while also providing the memories and camp fire stories that will be told by future generations. The NORRA 500’s 2-day loop race format is intended to reduce complicated planning and logistics. It’s an event that racers can easily manage with friends and family. ABOUT NORRA
Beginning in 2010, the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) began promoting a rebirth of the NORRA Mexican 1000 rally. The unique off-road rally was co-created by promoter Mike Pearlman to consist of special stages (unlimited speed timed stages in the dirt) linked together by controlled speed liaison / transit sections (highway). The one-of-a-kind, once-a-year, five-day rally includes vintage off-road vehicles and motorcycles, as well as modern pre-runners, trucks, buggies, UTVs, bikes and desert Rally Raid cars.
Pearlman’s late father Ed and others established the first running of the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road rally in November of 1967, which eventually became internationally recognized and evolved into the Baja 1000 in the mid-1970’s.
