For The 2022 Yokohama NORRA 500 Presented By Method Race Wheels!
AGUA DULCE, CALIF. - NORRA welcomes our friends in the media to join us at the 2022 Yokohama NORRA 500 presented by Method Race Wheels. No other events offer the rich history, amazing tales, interesting characters and spectacular backdrops that the NORRA rally's deliver. Every stage of the rally has its own unique flavor; encompassing the challenge and beauty of the Baja Peninsula. With classes this event for UTV’s, modern race cars and historic vehicles, there is a class for every competitor and a story for every audience. This year the Safari Expedition and the Cartera Grande (UTV Only) are back, joining the many other historic race vehicles in the field, and the list of drivers entered is just as impressive. Drivers range from living legends, and current pros to your average Joe who has a love of speed, and adventure.
The NORRA 500 follows epic routes that begin in Ensenada Baja Mexico on Thursday September 29th with Tech./Registration and ends in Ensenada on October 2nd after two days of racing – including the infamous pine forest, the beach, and the desert. Grab your passport and head down for “Good Vibes. Good Times!”. Take advantage of the adventure, incredible scenery, and compelling stories that surround the NORRA 500. ABOUT NORRA
Beginning in 2010, the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) began promoting a rebirth of the NORRA Mexican 1000 rally. The unique off-road rally was co-created by promoter Mike Pearlman to consist of special stages (unlimited speed timed stages in the dirt) linked together by controlled speed liaison / transit sections (highway). The one-of-a-kind, once-a-year, five-day rally includes vintage off-road vehicles and motorcycles, as well as modern pre-runners, trucks, buggies, UTVs, bikes and desert Rally Raid cars.
Pearlman’s late father Ed and others established the first running of the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road rally in November of 1967, which eventually became internationally recognized and evolved into the Baja 1000 in the mid-1970’s.
