April 20, 2018 (Agua Dulce, Calif.): April 20, 2018 (Agua Dulce, Calif.): Rigid Industries is dedicated to leading the LED revolution with optical technology, unsurpassed quality and leading edge innovation. They design and manufacture the LED Lighting that allows you to OWN THE NIGHT. They are very supportive of offroad motorsports of all types and are putting their sponsorship support behind the NORRA Mexican 1000. Rigid’s involvement with NORRA is a natural as Taylor Anderson, VP of branding at Rigid, competes in the rally in his own American Racing Wheels, 1971 Ford F-100. Competing in the Pioneer Trucks category, Anderson is well aware of the fun that can be had at “The Happiest Race On Earth!”.

Taylor Anderson, VP of branding at Rigid, returns to compete in the Mexican 1000 rally in his American Racing Wheels, 1971 Ford F-100. In his own words, "...I just love the entire event. It’s really outside the box compared to typical races. We are pleased to support the vintage racing and hope NORRA continues to grow..."

“I had heard about the NORRA Mexican 1000 for years and was anxious to get involved,” said Anderson, “All I heard was how everyone had such a great time so I wanted to experience it myself. After racing my F-100 truck “Olivia” for a couple years now, I just love the entire event. It’s really outside the box compared to typical races. We are pleased to support the vintage racing and hope NORRA continues to grow. It’s really amazing to be able to race with and then share a beer with the legends of offroad racing. Last year I was laying under my truck in the hotel parking lot working on something and Curt LeDuc came over, laid down next to me, and asked me if I needed any help. Everyone who takes part in the rally becomes a part of the community. It’s really an incredible experience from start to finish.”

ABOUT NORRA

Beginning in 2010, the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) began promoting a rebirth of the NORRA Mexican 1000 rally. The unique off-road rally was co-created by promoter Mike Pearlman to consist of special stages (unlimited speed timed stages in the dirt) linked together by controlled speed liaison / transit sections (highway). The one-of-a-kind, once-a-year, four-day rally includes vintage off-road vehicles and motorcycles, as well as modern desert Rally Raid cars, pre-runner trucks, buggies and motorcycles.

Pearlman's late father Ed and others established the first running of the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road rally in November of 1967, which eventually became internationally recognized and evolved into the Baja 1000 in the mid-1970's.

The 2018 NORRA Mexican 1000 is supported by Yokohama, Method Race Wheels, South Point Hotel Casino, Walker Evans Racing, Bilstein Shock Absorbers, Steel-It, Multitool USA, RIGID, VP Racing Fuels, Timberline, Ensenada Proturismo, Mastercraft/Impact Safety, Cerveceria Transpeninsular, Roganto, Biltwell Inc., Schampa, Racing TraX.com, Satellite Phone Store.com, P.C.I. Race Radios, WARN, Magic Bullet, US Action Trax.com, and many more.
