NORRA 500 Prize Money Doubles to 20K for Pro Turbo UTV and 2000 Classes

The 2024 NORRA 500 now boasts the highest prize pool in off-road racing for the year, with a staggering total of $40,000 up for grabs. This represents a doubling of the previous prize pool, heightening the stakes for competitors. The UTV Pro Turbo class and the Pro 2000 Class (>2000cc and Class 10 cars) will each see their champions walk away with a substantial $20,000 payout and the coveted title of "King of the Beach." The 2024 NORRA 500 is set to take place from October 11th through the 13th.

Previous winners of the 10K prize were Wayne Matlock and Gilberto Rodriguez at the 2024 Mexican 1000 and Max Gordon and Thomas Purcell at the 2023 Norra 500. Thomas Purcell driving a Polaris Pro R battled down to the wire with Bruce Yee in his Jimco Class 10 for the Evolution 2000 class win and the $10,000 payout. After two full days of racing, Purcell came out on top by only 25 seconds. This round of the rivalry between class 10 and UTV’s went to the UTV, but the course layout at this year’s NORRA 500 has a perfect balance of fast, full throttle sections that favor the class 10 and challenging technical sections where UTV’s excel.
