Dates For 2024 NORRA 500 Race Released

Dates for the 2024 NORRA 500 off road race in Baja California, Mexico are October 10th through the 13th. Make plans to join us in Baja. The NORRA 500 is four days of fun and a challenging two full days of timed special stages for 4 wheeled race vehicle classes and UTV’s (no bikes at this event). The NORRA 500 uses a rally race format. Speed sections average 70 miles each with a combined total around 250 miles per day. This year’s course layout will include incredibly diverse terrain in Northern Baja. Each day you will travel through favorite areas as well as new unique trails that many have not seen. A different course each day, they will be further tailored to the capabilities of each race vehicle. Unlimited vehicles (group one), will race on sections that are more demanding. Group two cars, that are more limited, will have their own sections that are appropriate for the limited rules and technology they were originally constructed around. Not only does NORRA include vehicles from the entire history of off road racing, but also allows competitors to race according to the capabilities of their vehicles. This ensures a level playing field for all and the greatest Baja racing experience possible. Those who are competing for cash prizes will only be pitted against comparable vehicles. Last year’s event had 20 thousand dollars up for grabs.

NORRA’s Mexican 1000 (registration is currently open for the event that takes place April 26th through May 4th), traverses the entire length of the Baja Peninsula. The NORRA 500 takes place in Northern Baja so it’s less travel and much easier on logistics. The competition is just as tough, but it’s a lot of fun for the crews and a perfect opportunity to include friends and family in the adventure. If you don’t have a race car you can enter the Meyers Manx Safari Expedition for appropriately modified street legal vehicles. The Safari Expedition explores the area, takes in some of the race action and participates in the fun, food and celebrations with the race teams. They rub elbows with current racing professionals, icons of the sport and average Joes who all love racing in Baja. NORRA created off road racing in Baja back in 1967 and continues that legacy today. You will create your own memories to be told around the camp fire for years to come.
