NORRA Announces Johnny Campbell as Grand Marshal for the NORRA’s Baja 6 Day Rally

The “King of Baja” to Lead This Year’s Legendary Adventure

NORRA is proud to announce that off-road racing icon Johnny Campbell will serve as Grand Marshal for the 2026 NORRA’s Baja 6 Day Rally.

Known around the world as the “King of Baja,” Campbell’s name is synonymous with dominance, grit, and legacy in desert racing. With an unmatched 11 overall victories in Baja, he stands as the most successful motorcycle racer in the event’s history, an achievement that continues to define excellence in Baja competition.

“Johnny Campbell represents everything NORRA stands for; heritage, perseverance, and a deep respect for Baja,” said Eliseo Garcia, NORRA Race Director. “Having him as Grand Marshal is more than an honor, it’s a celebration of one of the greatest to ever race down the peninsula.”

Campbell’s rise began as an independant before earning a spot with American Honda in 1992. He would go on to build a legacy not only as a racer, but as a leader, founding Johnny Campbell Racing and eventually taking over Honda’s racing program in 2008. Under his leadership, JCR/Honda has remained a dominant force in off-road racing while continuing to develop championship-winning machines.

Beyond the trophies and titles, Campbell’s impact runs deeper. His contributions to motorcycle development, his mentorship of future champions, and his longstanding support of children and orphanages throughout Baja California have made him a respected figure both on and off the course.

In recognition of his extraordinary career, Campbell was inducted into the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2018, cementing his place among the all-time greats of the sport.

As Grand Marshal, Campbell will help lead competitors through the spirit and tradition that make the NORRA’s Baja 6 Day Rally unlike any other event in motorsports. His presence adds another layer of authenticity and inspiration to a rally built on honoring the roots of Baja racing while embracing its future.
